Chelsea Crites Peforms and Discusses Songwriting, Peforming, and the Healing Power of Music Biz

Here’s an excerpt from the program:
KB: What word of advice or encouragement would you give to someone who is just starting out in the music business?
CC: My mom still tells me this. When you’re in the music industry, it’s something you have to work on every day. You have to treat it like a job. You have to think of stuff you can do to promote yourself, build your name and get your name out there. Decide who you want to be. Do you want to use your first and last name? Put yourself in the right place to meet the people who can help you. This is life, and you’re going to meet people who are fantastic, and you’ll also people who can’t help you so much, and may even hurt you. You’re going to have your ups and downs, but it’s going to turn out alright if you surround yourself with the right people. And, if things work out you’ve got to stay humble. You always have to keep being yourself.
Well said, Ms. Crites!
